Original owners Bill Scanlon and Phil Randall, with clear vision and faresightedness, opened the Albatross Pub in the year 1964. Just three years later, the brothers Val and Bob Johnson took over and successfully ran the Bird for the next 30 years.

In 1997, the pub was bought by Wendy Halambeck and Linda Zsilavetz who lovingly restored the place from top to bottom, instilling the character the pub has today.

Wendy left in 2018 and Drew McGee, who started out as a doorman and then became a bartender, became part owner with LInda.

For 56 years the Albatross has been an beloved institution in the Bay Area. An comfortable English style pub that has been a favorite for generations.
