‘Buskers’ series at the Albatross

ART OF BUSK: The Albatross claims to be the oldest pub in Berkeley, dating from 1964. As far as we know, it’s the only pub in Berkeley! This cozy and friendly spot offers a full bar, microbrews, free popcorn and bar food. (You’re also welcome to bring in your own snacks.)
We bring this up because, in addition to its July music series, the Albatross is showing recent paintings by Scott Pettersen. His “Buskers” series of street performers is reminiscent of Edward Hopper. See his work through July 16 during regular business hours, Sunday through Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. and Wednesday through Saturday, 4:30 p.m. until 2 a.m.
Or, double your fun, and participate in The Brainstormer Trivia Pub Quiz, held every Sunday at 8:30. (Sign up by 8:15.) Bring your own team of not more than five people or come alone and buddy up there.
If music is your poison, The Whiskey Brothers play old timey tunes and bluegrass on Wednesday, July 5 with no cover charge. The Albatross is located at 1822 San Pablo Ave. in Berkeley.
